Baby Monkey Can’t Take New Baby 🐒

Deep in the heart of a green, whispering forest lived a playful young monkey named Nino. He was the only baby in his troop, cherished and adored by all, especially his mother, Luma. Nino loved swinging from trees, getting the best fruits, and being the center of everyone’s attention. He had no idea how much things could change—until the day a new baby arrived.

Her name was Kira, and she was small, quiet, and constantly curled up in their mother’s arms. From the moment Kira came into the world, everyone in the troop gathered around to coo and fuss over her. Everyone except Nino.

At first, he tried to act normal. But as the days passed, he noticed his mother wasn’t watching him climb anymore. She wasn’t laughing at his funny faces or cheering when he did a backflip from the vines. All her time went to Kira—feeding her, rocking her, holding her close.

Nino began to feel something he didn’t understand. It made his chest tight and his face frown. He didn’t want to play. He didn’t want to eat bananas. He didn’t want to look at Kira.

One morning, while their mother napped under the wide leaves, Nino crept over to the baby. Kira lay curled in a nest of leaves, sleeping peacefully. Nino sat and stared at her. “Why are you here?” he whispered. “Everything was fine before you came.”

Kira stirred and opened her tiny eyes. She didn’t cry. She just looked at Nino and reached out with her tiny fingers. He hesitated, then pulled away and ran.

Later that day, Nino sat alone at the edge of the clearing, hugging his knees. His mother found him there, her arms now free. She sat beside him quietly, letting the silence speak first.

“You don’t love me anymore,” Nino muttered.

His mother blinked, then gently pulled him into her lap. “Oh, Nino. I will always love you. Just because Kira is here doesn’t mean I have less love for you. My heart just grew bigger.”

“But I don’t like her,” he said softly.

“You don’t have to like her yet,” Luma said, brushing his fur. “But give her a chance. She’s your sister. One day, she might be your best friend.”

Nino thought about it. He wasn’t ready to love Kira. Not yet. But later that evening, when Kira started to cry and no one else was nearby, Nino picked up a soft leaf and gently waved it over her face like a fan. She stopped crying. For a moment, she smiled.

And for the first time, Nino didn’t feel angry. He just felt… curious.
